WONG CHOW JENG （ 黄召仁 ）

Dr. Wong C.J. is an Associate Professor of Engineering Physics at Universiti Sains Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from Universiti Sains Malaysia after graduating from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics and M.Sc. in Plasma Physics. Presently, he is conducting courses in design engineering, fiber optics communication and electronics engineering for more than 10 years. He has also been invited to deliver lectures in Peking University, China and as a Visiting Professor to Cheng Kong University, Taiwan and Lanzhou University, China. Dr. Wong C.J. is a member of The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) USA, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2006.

Dr. Wong C.J. has over 15 years of working experience in the electronics industry and semiconductor manufacturing for multinational companies. He was formerly the Factory Manager in Varitronix EC, Penang (Subsidiary of Magna Donnelly- USA), the Industrial Engineering Department Manager in SONY Electronics, Penang, the Quality Assurance Senior Engineer in HITACHI Semiconductor, Penang, and the Research & Development Engineer in SIEMENS Semiconductor, Penang.

Currently, his research interests include remote sensing application for air pollution monitoring and using Digital Cameras to determine air quality by image processing. He has collaborated with Taiwan’s National Central University and Chang Jung Christian University on research to Map and Assess Raptors’ Migration as well as Investigating Variability of Outgoing Longwave Radiation Using Wavelet Transform.

Dr. Wong C.J. has published more than sixty research articles in national and international monographs, book chapters, journals and conference proceedings. Eight of his publications were selected and published in the Digital Library for Physics and Astronomy in Smithsonian/NASA Astrophysics Data System hosted by the Harvard-Smithsonian Center.

During his masters post graduate study in 1990, Dr. Wong C.J. had successfully redesigned, built and tested a plasma focus fusion device (UNU/ICTP PFF, 3.3 kJ Plasma Focus) for ICTP (International Centre of Theoretical Physics) in Italy. He had also carried out some novel plasma researches at ICTP with other international scientists.

Dr. Wong C.J.’s Air Pollution Warning System (AirWarn) team project received international recognition upon winning three awards namely the ITEX Gold Award, Kandaya & Associates Award (KASS) and the World Intellectual Property Organization Awards (WIPO) for International Best Invention beating entries from South Korea, Iran, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Japan during the 17th International Invention, Industrial Design & Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2006 at KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. With his vast experience and expertise, he has been appointed as an International Judge in various competitions such as the Intel-ISEF Grand Awards Judge (2016) USA and International innovation competition in Taiwan since year 2010.

He has successfully coached elementary and high school students to win national and international level Science and Engineering Innovation Competitions bringing glory to the nation and worldwide acclamation. Dr. Wong C.J. is also a content expert in STEM education; training educators and students based upon the SKI (Skill, Knowledge and Innovativeness) concept which has been presented during the 3rd International Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Conference (ISMTEC) 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand.

黄召仁博士，马来西亚华裔，马来西亚理科大学工程物理副教授。他获得马来西亚理科大学工程物理博士，马来亚大学物理学士和等离子体物理硕士，早年毕业于槟城恒毅中学。15年工业工作经验，先后担任过西门子 (SIEMENS)半导体和日立(HITACHI)半导体工程师。索尼(SONY)电子工厂部门经理。美国Magna Donnelly电子工厂厂长。

主要教学课程是设计工程，电子工程和光纤/光缆通讯。主要研究方向是遥感及图像处理。
