The 1st Huaqiao University-Universiti Sains Malaysia International Symposium on Optoelectronics and Energy Materials

9-12 September 2024 - Lecturers from the School of Physics, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), recently visited the Institute of Luminescent Materials and Information Displays at Huaqiao University (HQU) for the 1st Huaqiao University-Universiti Sains Malaysia International Symposium on Optoelectronics and Energy Materials. This visit was a key step in strengthening our academic ties, exploring new avenues for research collaboration, and discussing future joint projects in the fields of optoelectronics and energy materials as part of our ongoing partnership with HQU.

The delegation from USM included distinguished lecturers and researchers, namely:Assoc. Prof. Dr. Quah Ching Keng, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yam Fong Kwong, Dr. Siti Azrah Mohamad Samsuri, Dr. Suhana Arshad,Dr. Loh Wai Ming, Dr. Nursakinah Suardi, Dr. Mahayatun Dayana Johan Ooi and Dr. Ahmad Rujhan.

Their participation focused on discussing collaborative research and presenting their current work in related fields. During the visit, Prof. Zhanhua Wei, Dean of the Institute of Luminescent Materials and Information Displays at Huaqiao University (HQU), also played a key role in facilitating the discussions and exploring opportunities for joint research projects and academic collaboration.

In addition to the academic activities, the delegation had the opportunity to explore the cultural and historical aspects of the city, including a visit to Gulangyu Island in Xiamen. This visit provided a valuable cultural experience and enhanced the overall engagement between the institutions.
