Innovating Physics Education with Modern Technology for Kolej MARA Physics Lecturers

19 - 21 May 2025 - The School of Physics, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), successfully conducted a three-day training program titled “Advances in Physics Education: Technology, Innovation & Teaching Strategies for Pra-U Lecturers” from 19 to 21 May 2025. Attended by 12 Kolej MARA Physics lecturers and 2 MARA officers, the course was led by a team of seven experienced trainers. This program focused on empowering lecturers with modern teaching strategies, hands-on laboratory experience, and digital integration to enhance Physics education. Participants explored recent developments in Physics, digital learning tools, and innovative assessment methods.

One of the key highlights was the practical experimentation sessions, where participants engaged in four major Physics experiments: Michelson Interferometer, Microwave Optics, AC Resonance, and Oscilloscope Fundamentals. These sessions were designed to reinforce conceptual understanding and promote interactive, student-centered learning. In addition, participants were given the opportunity to visit several cutting-edge research and teaching facilities at the School of Physics, USM, including the Geophysics Lab, Nano-Optoelectronics Lab, Biophysics Lab, and the Engineering Workshop.

The training concluded with collaborative planning, sharing of technology-integrated lesson plans, and reflection activities, reinforcing a strong commitment to educational excellence.
