Mobile Planetarium and Educational Information Exhibition at the Wedding Ceremony

31 January 2026 - The Unit Penyelidikan Ilmu Falak dan Sains Atmosfera (UPIFSA), School of Physics, was specially invited to host a Mobile Planetarium and Educational Information Exhibition at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Puan Halimah binti Khalil, a lecturer at the Penang Matriculation College.

This unique invitation marks the second time UPIFSA has been requested to conduct an astronomy exhibition at a wedding, following a similar successful event in 2023. UPIFSA welcomed the opportunity as part of its ongoing mission to promote and popularize Astronomy, bringing scientific knowledge closer to the community in creative settings.

The program was led by Dr. Idahwati Sarudin, supported by two technical staff members, Encik Abdul Nassier Abdul Rahim and Encik Shahil Ahmad Khosaini. Additionally, Dr. Idahwati involved two of her students, Ms. Nur Alia Natasha binti Johari and Mr. Darshan Sivalingam, to assist in managing the exhibition and engaging with the public.

The event was a resounding success, with over 100 guests of all ages taking the opportunity to experience the mobile planetarium. Attendees expressed great excitement and interest in the astronomical sharing and interactive activities provided throughout the day.
