School Of Physics Welcomes Institute of Luminescent Materials, Huaqiao University, China To Strengthen Research Collaboration

12 June 2024 - In a promising step towards fostering international cooperation in academic and research, the School of Physics received a delegation from Huaqiao University, China. The visit marked the beginning of discussions aimed at establishing a robust collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.Led by Professor Wei Zhanhua the delegation from Huaqiao University comprised esteemed faculty members and researchers from various disciplines within physics.

The discussions centered around a wide range of potential collaborative ventures, including joint research projects, student and staff exchange programs, and the sharing of resources and expertise. Both parties expressed a keen interest in leveraging their respective strengths to tackle pressing scientific challenges and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

Dean of Physics, Prof. Dr Abdul Razak Ibrahim expressed his optimism about the collaboration, stating, "This partnership has the potential to significantly enhance our research capabilities and broaden our academic horizons. By joining forces with Huaqiao University, we aim to forge lasting connections and make meaningful contributions to the global scientific community."

The visit concluded with both parties expressing their commitment to formalizing the collaboration through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the near future. As plans take shape, the School of Physics and Huaqiao University are poised to embark on a journey of mutual learning and discovery, strengthening ties between academia and fostering international understanding in the pursuit of scientific excellence.
